Are you seeking security or adventure?

My nature has always been one of unusually adventure-seeking, though not in the physically challenging way like mountain climbing, running marathons, etc. I would be more likely to get a wild hair and spontaneously head out on a cross country road trip at 3am to see a loved one or new place. I did enjoy learning to shoot my 380 and truly enjoyed refining my aim, changing the clips and knowing I could defend my home as a single small-framed woman and the others in my home for whom I was responsible. I could pick where to hit, how many times to hit as well as hit multiple intruders if necessary! Big “Whew!”.

I bowled until I bowled a perfect game then wandered off. I can get intensely involved in new things and activities so I take them on sparsely. Shooting pool is fun for me and I continue to resist the offers of others to help me get better including a true pool shark who couldn’t understand why.

The reason was that I want some things to just be silly fun and a progressing of skill is not that to me in everything I do. I don’t want my mind and concentration involved in all things because it needs rest. That’s why on here I don’t write serious topics as often as I do nonsensical, aggressive, or humorous fun.

My adventurous streak is prevalent in all I do. I like diversity, challenges, and flying by the seat of my pants as an everyday adventure that unfolds at will.

Recently, however, under an assault of challenges I could not change, influence, nor stop I have turned to the basics of routine and security again out of necessity as well as mental health. I have a week of my new job under my belt and there have been no negative factors with many positives to counter any that should arise. Best of all, the company needs a person who can develop professional aspects while rolling along with other changes as I help to implement them! I’m quite the tamer of offices, employees, and procedures/policies and with a company still growing and evolving after 45 years I’m really excited to help with fine touches and in bringing in new people who will know what to do, how to do it, and have a reference manual to confer with for things they need along the way. I enjoy being a leader, facilitator, and mentor. I can’t be stuck at a desk doing repetitive tasks because it will kill me inside. I’m more of a drag race than a Nascar long haul lol. Fortunately, this company has many different roads I’ll drive one after the other helping Nascars be better and more content with their roles! They will also make more money, so that’s a bonus!

Thank you to those of you who still stop by to read my musings as I haven’t really had the mindframe or time to give it my best. I am in the process of finding stability of mind, heart, and life all in one and do not want to write sad, angry, or depressing things but for now that’s life! Each day it gets better and I get stronger.  It’s not even like me to have to say those things if that helps indicate the dark essence of the hole.

Starting over completely with a ton of variables that cannot be controlled can be an adventure and I want to win the race, not catch fire before the finish line!

Have a beautiful weekend!!!!
