Describe a random encounter with a stranger that stuck out positively to you.

When I moved to Baton Rouge for work, I was staying at a long term hotel and there were construction workers there, staying while they worked in town.

Having a crappy day, i opted to choose the vending machine for dinner. As I walked towards the machine, i saw a guy leaning by the door holding his mouth with a toothache. I said hi and asked if he was heading to the dentist. He nodded no, and motioned his fingers together like ” no cash” in them.

I asked if he had painkiller, like Orajel. He made a confused face. I said you know, the tooth gel? He motioned no, and I told him to stay there, I was about to become his new favorite person.

I scurried to the elevator, up 4 floors, out the door, down to the end and into my room. I hurried and found the Orajel, threw a few Q-tips in a ziplock bag and hurried back down. This poor kid was in pain!

I half expected him to be gone, not waiting for my return! There he was!!

I awkwardly handed him the Orajel and Q-tips and told him how to use it. He started to there, but I told him to keep it and get some sleep.

He gleefully left, saying thank you and going to try this newfound witchcraft!

Could not have been more random. I think about him periodically, hoping he’s got health insurance and a good job now!

In any case, I was able to provide a miracle for this guy he gets to keep…
