How would you improve your community?
Since leaving NC (30 yrs ago) I have not had a feeling of community. People generally don’t give a shite these days and/or are so encumbered with getting by they have no more to give.
I was blessed to have a strong family bond so I never really missed it. Plus, I like people from afar for the most part.
Community as an entity includes the schools and I’m damn sure glad to be done with those. Not sure if you saw her, but there was a calm bitch angry at the school board in VA when the dad got thrown out. That would be me.
I told them off when I was in school, told them off for my son multiple times and even for others. I don’t like entitlement being swung by way, particularly by lethargic, slow minds.
I’ve worked in higher education 10 years. There is an implication people ate “lifers”, and that brings stagnation and group think. Mental and spiritual prison.
It is the exact reason free enterprise excels while government falters.
No clue how kids do it these days. I was glad to have a son.
