I am stunned, shocked, and horrified. After 30 yrs there, it is unfathomable that this bridge could fall like that. It was always scary when traffic stopped and I was on that bridge. My heart is crushed for the workers, drivers, and everyone who will face the horror of this when they wake. It was pivotal to many locations.

History of the bridge:

The Francis Scott Key Bridge, which collapsed after being struck by a cargo ship early Tuesday, was named after the American lawyer who wrote the lyrics of the national anthem. Construction of the bridge started in 1972 and was completed in March 1977.
