Job wise, I started picking cherry tomatoes and ended as director of client services and admin for a luxury matchmaking firm. I have considered myself a musician, scholar, and resource in my life but not a writer; though if made to write I always got high grades.
As an adult, my constitutional law professor asked to use my paper as an example and I got A’s on creative writing at an honors university. I remember being so confused in political philosophy. I was a musician…and started college for it. In my family there are two siblings at genius level, so my sis and I called each other nicknames based on being the crazy, fun ones…at which we not only excel, but also thrive.
Ok.. don’t be hating us for previous times, but we are Heckle and Jeckle. I might Heckle you, but she will flat out Jeckle your ass to your face. She was a trucker, now trains them and sings like an angel. Cute little blond and a true die-hard.
All that being said, my question to writers is how do you write?
Do you have an idea and ponder on it? Do you think to write or does it just come out like you were a vessel? Is it a combo of all the above?
I ask because I never wrote for fun except awesome love letters!
Then, one day I wrote a kid’s book. I just sat down and started and it came out. It’s weird.
I joked in a post about seeing the workhouse in my mind when I took Xanax during trauma, but I think it was real. My inner mind and outer being do not match up. If you spoke to me, you’d never guess who I actually am, though I am always genuine.
My mind does things by itself. It thinks, ponders, comes up with solutions, shuts down, disconnects from my fore thoughts, and reconnects at will. At some points, a person could think me quite dense or irritable if they interrupt these processes. I know I do.
Sooooo…. Do you make ideas up or does your mind just write by itself. I am often flippant on the daily prompts because it’s my nature and also real answers require thought. I answer them on my phone, pecking away. Also, I think people come to write, not read dissertations of fitched up minds. I don’t like to be told what to write, especially if it is too encompassing or personal.
Please help the non-writing writer! I ask because I may finish up the kid’s book by Easter and get it out. Book one is written, and I just left it after I got it out of me. Needs photos, editing, blah blah blah and here we go back to the prompt question regarding boredom and hating tedium.
