Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?
I played an instrument and was first in my state many years, no private lessons. Started as a music major, but it was the wrong instrument for me and too late to start with a new one lol. The Navy band came a few years to try to recruit me but I always said the same thing… if you can get me outta basic training, I’m yours!
Funny story. I moved three states away and while in the college band my first class the conductor looked familiar. Just as it hit me he stopped our playing and pointed at me and said “I told you I’d get you!” To which I replied “Yeah, but I’m not in the navy!”
Even more weird, a few years later, a Political Philosophy professor asked if he could use my Machiavelli paper as an example at the Naval Academy. Shocked, I thought “duh!” but I said “Of course you can.”
My sister is the writer of the family, but I’m more connected with music now than I was then!
