Do you remember life before the internet?
I remember being glad my mom knew everything like an encyclopedia. It was comforting.
Life was simpler and I don’t recall being bored very often at all…though NC days could be long and hot.
I remember having the option not to see half naked women everywhere on TV.
I remember All that Glitters, Saturday Night Live and Are You Being Served being risqué without having to be visually or verbally gross.
I remember talking all night on the phone with boyfriends.
I remember when you had to take pics with cameras and phones were on tables, walls, or booths.
I read the entire youth section in the Allentown, PA library which I wouldn’t have if I’d had internet.
I remember people and in person being exciting, valued, and a gift. People gad stories.
I remember wanting to kill everyone as they clacked along on giant typewriters all around me in typing class.
To tie it all up and together, I also remember sitting as an adult in a Constitutional Law class with young turds clacking all around me on their laptop keyboards….buying tennis rackets, porn, making vacation plans, no notes… lol
I’ve been lucky to see the world both ways, and I’m happy to be here with you…
